Sutton Pedersen Tandem

This tandem was built for Pat & Bob Martin (UK) in 1990 by Roy Sutton, using the drawings of Mikael & Dagmar Pedersen's own tandem.
"Roy Sutton used his solo frame jig to build the front and then we simply added the back. The frame is made from 12mm standard tube and a Reynolds 531 elliptical tube, and weighs about 7.5kgs. After 3 attempts we finally got all the angles to fit.
We have 700c wheels with 5 speed "Sachs" hub gear and 2 chain wheels. There are 2 hub brakes and one "V" brake. The saddles are leather supported on nylon straps.
It rides very well, and we have covered more than 20,000 miles in England and Europe, including riding from "end to end" of Britain.."
